* We are working on bringing sales functionality to the Android app as well.
When taking payments a stable internet connection is absolutely essential. This can be in the form of a designated WiFi, a 4G router or even a SIM card in the device itself. Remember that the network is an essential part of your payment infrastructure and should not be overlooked.
To sell tickets you need the following:
- An iOS device (iPad or iPhone)*
- An iZettle card reader
*Make sure your device is running on a compatible version of iOS. Refer to the table at the top of this articles for more information.
Scanning tickets can be done on both our Android and iOS apps. To scan tickets you can therefore use either an Android devices or an iPhone or iPad.
We recommend using an Android phone for this purpose. This is because they are generally less expensive and are more tolerant to water, dust and general damage. The Galaxy Xcover 4s from Samsung is great device for scanning tickets.
You don't always need a printer. When selling tickets from the app you can distribute them by SMS or email directly from the app.
If you need a printer to print tickets we have two options:
1. Star Micronics TSP654ii BTii - This is our 'economy' printer. It's fairly inexpensive and widely available. It prints on thin receipt-like thermal paper. This is a great option for situations where your customers are not expected to carry around the ticket for long periods of time.
2. BOCA Lemur series - This is the 'premium' printer and is a typical choice for football clubs that need their own branding on the tickets. It prints on thicker, more robust paper that can be completely customized. There are some restrictions, however, so if you want to use this printer please contact TicketCo for more information.
