7. Season Passes & Memberships
Once you have set up your series of matches or events, you might want to set up a season ticket (or season pass as we call it) and/or a membership card next. A season pass is a special type of ticket allowing access to multiple individual events. The purchaser can use the same QR-code and reference code from their season ticket when entering each individual event.
Note that season passes are only compatible with items which have the category Ticket.
Setting up a season ticket
Season tickets are set up in the Season Pass tab in the main menu. This feature will have to be activated for you, so if you cannot see this feature, let us know. Setting up season tickets works very similarly to normal events, where you first set up the season ticket details, then you create a series of season ticket types. The slight difference is that you will need to associate events with the season ticket.
Select Season Passes in the main menu, then Create new season pass.
Enter a title, add an image and description, and apply a date and location to your season ticket.
You can then choose which of your events you would like to associate with the season ticket under the Associate tab.
Use the blue arrows to add events to the season pass, and use the red cross to remove an event. You will notice that if you are using a seat map, this will be displayed here, and you will only be able to add events with the same seat map.
If you select an event without a seat map that has multiple capacities, you will be asked to select the capacity which will be reduced when a season ticket is purchased. You should therefore choose a capacity that only contains items with the category "Ticket". Hit Save once you have added all of your events.
Season pass types
Next, go to Season pass types to set up your different season ticket prices. Here you can see we have created an adult season ticket, and you could also set up season passes e.g. for children or VIP, or with different price brackets. You can have various season ticket types, with varying prices, under the same season ticket set up. This works in largely the same way as the Ticket types tab under your regular events.
Note that all season ticket types will work in the same way, allowing entrance to all of the associated events. If you want to set up multiple season tickets which will allow entrance to different selections of events, you will need to create multiple season ticket "events" rather than season ticket types.
As with regular events, if you have a seat map, you will also need to set up Price zones on your seat map. This allows you to associate certain season ticket types with specific areas on your seat map.
Season passes vs Memberships
Whereas season passes allow the purchaser to automatically gain access to multiple associated events, memberships work by providing the purchaser with a membership code which can be used to access special tickets/products available only to members.
Season passes | Memberships | |
What does the purchaser receive? | One QR-code and reference code which can be scanned at each associated event. | A membership code which can be used to get access to items only available to members e.g. reduced price tickets, exclusive merchandise. |
How to associate items/events? | Under Associate on the season pass. | Under Ticket types on the individual events. |
Memberships
Once we have activated the memberships feature for you, you will see the Memberships option in your main menu. The set up for memberships is very similar to season passes, where you enter in the details for your membership under Event Details, followed by the different membership types under Item Types.
Once you created your membership set up, you can navigate to the tickets and other products which you want to offer your members. You might, for example, give your members access to certain reduced price tickets, or they might be able to purchase some exclusive merchandise.
Find the relevant tickets/products in your regular events, or set them up if you have not already done so. Under the item settings, you will now see that you can select the memberships you have just set up:
Use the checkbox under Memberships to select which membership you wish to associate with the item.
If you want to allow your members to purchase more than one item per membership code e.g. they can buy 5 x member tickets with the same membership number, you should also tick the correct membership type under Allow multiple tickets.
On the event page where you are selling membership items, you should ensure that the Requires ticket personalization checkbox is activated under Event Details:
Memberships purchase journey
A customer who has purchased a membership, will have a 7 letter membership code which they will need to input when redeeming items and tickets exclusively for members.
You will also be able to scan membership QR-codes in the TicketCo app, so that you will be able to see when a customer's membership card is valid.
