Adding Live Chat to your streaming event
What is TicketCo Media Services Live Chat?
This feature allows you to add a Live Chat to your live streams, so that you can interact with your viewers with ease. In this guide, we will assist you in setting up your Live Chat. The Live Chat function can be used to enhance your stream, and make the streaming experience more interactive for you as the organiser, and for your customers. To gain access to the Live Chat module, please contact us here.
How does it work?
The Live Chat is visible for all viewers when the stream has started and all viewers can participate in it both using the web-version of the stream, as well as the TV-App.
As the picture below shows, you can also hide the live chat in the top right corner if you don't want to see it.
Where can the viewer see the chat?
Currently the Live Chat is available on both the web version of the stream and through the TV-app.
For the viewers, the Live Chat is only visible once the stream has started, it is not visible in the waiting room leading up to the start of the stream.
How do I set it up?
Once we have activated the function for you, you simply need to head over to the event page of the stream and click on the "Chat" tab. Then, click Create chat to enable the Live Chat, as you see here:
Once created, you should see this screen:
Is there a profanity filter?
Yes, the Live Chat comes with a predefined profanity filter to remove harmful & disturbing messages to protect your stream and audience.
In addition to this, you as an organiser have the possibility to moderate the chat through the TicketCo platform where you can remove individual messages.
How do I moderate the chat?
This is easily done through the moderation page which you can reach by going to the relevant event and clicking on the "Chat" tab. As you can see in the image below, you as the chat moderator will be able to remove messages by clicking on the red icon.
- As a chat moderator, your name will be marked with a star badge to help viewers see that you are the admin.
- If you remove a message by clicking the red button on the right hand side of the message, it will turn grey and will still be visible in the log for you. It will, however, not be visible for the viewers any longer.
- If our profanity filter picks up any blacklisted words, these will be substituted with stars: "******".
- You can export a chat log file up in the top right corner by clicking the yellow CSV-button.
