Selling tickets in the TicketCo app on iOS
You can sell tickets on the door with our TicketCo Admin app on your iOS device (iPhone or iPad). This guide will take you through what you need in order to sell, and how to carry out the sale and distribute the tickets.
Preparing to sell
What do I need to sell?
📱An iOS mobile device (version 9+)
The TicketCo admin app
🌍 A stable internet connection, either WiFi or mobile data
📱 Optional: a Zettle card terminal to accept card payments
Who can sell?
Download the app if you have not already done so, and log in with your username and password. To have access to the Sales feature in the app, you will need to have the Sales (App) permission activated on your user, so if you cannot see this feature when you log in, speak to an administrator.
We recommend that each device used for sales should have a separate log in. The administrator of the account (primary contact) can create multiple users for this purpose. Note that you can create users such as "Sales 1" and "Sales 2", you do not necessarily need to create users for specific people.
Opening and closing sales
We have a feature in the admin app which allows you to generate daily sales reports, known as X- and Z-reports, on a user level. To do this, you open sales before you start selling and you close sales once you are finished.
Before you make your first sale, you will asked to input your cash holdings, and inputting this will open sales. To close sales, go to the main menu int he app, select Reports, POS Reports, and then X-report or Z-report. Select the + symbol in the top right to generate a report and close sales.
Making a sale
Select Sales in the main menu, and the event that you wish to sell tickets (or other items) on. Select the items you want to sell by using the + / - buttons. You then choose the payment method at the bottom of the screen, accept payment and distribute the tickets/receipt.
Payment options
Discount - Select this option to view any discounts which can be applied to the sale.
Add - This adds the order to the shopping basket, meaning you can then add other items and tickets from other events before completing the sales.
Card - Selecting this option will trigger the Zettle reader (head this way for how to connect the Zettle reader) so that you can accept card payments.
Mixed - Here us where you can split the payment between card and cash, and you will also find other payment methods such as gift cards, vouchers and reservations here.
Cash - This registers the sale as a cash sale.
Distributing tickets
Once the sale is complete, you might want to distribute the ticket. We recommend doing this so that the customer has a copy of their ticket which also acts as a receipt for the purchase. You can do this 3 different ways:
- Send the ticket using SMS or email: Simply enter an email address and/or phone number then click Send to send them to the customer.
- Printing the ticket with a ticket printer: If you are using a supported ticket printer, choose Print to print out the tickets.
- Scanning a TicketCo Wallet QR code: If the customer has the TicketCo Wallet app installed, select Scan ID to scan their code (found under Use on the Wallet app), and the purchase will be registered on their user.
If you are selling tickets on the door to your event, we recommend that you also check in the tickets immediately by swiping them to the left.
Congratulations! You have now completed a sale in the TicketCo Admin App! Hit Done in the top left of the page to go back to the main menu.
