Important information about gift cards
How do I get access to the gift card module?
At the moment, the gift card module is only available upon request. If you would like access, please contact us on support@ticketco.net.
When will I my gift card sales be settled?
Money from any gift card sales will be remain in our client account before being paid out to you.
When a customer uses their gift card, this will be registered as a payment on the event that they have bought tickets to. This means that when the money for that specific event is paid out to you, the money from the gift card sales will be transferred over from our account and into yours - as if it were a regular payment for that event.
If you have a weekly payout plan, you will receive payment as per normal for the gift cards that are used.
This information will be displayed on your invoices.
How does TicketCo calculate provision on gift cards?
We calculate provision on the gift cards based on what they are used for. If the gift card is used to buy a ticket for £20, then the provision will be based on this sum.
How long is a gift card valid?
You decide how long you want your gift card to be valid for, although this must be a minimum of 12 months. When setting up your gift card, you can type in the number of months you want it to be valid for.
What happens when the gift card expires?
When the expiry date is reached, the gift card will no longer be able to be used, and any remaining value on the card will be transferred over to you.
Can the gift card be used online?
The gift card can be used for payments both online and in our organiser app.
Can a gift card be used as part of a payment?
Yes! If the value of the gift card is lower than the total sum of a purchase, the customer can pay for the remaining sum with card or cash.
What if someone does not use up the whole value of the gift card?
The remaining value of the gift card will remain on the card until used up or until the card expires.
Can I extend a gift card's expiry date?
You will unfortunately not be able to extend a customer's gift card once purchased. This is because the expiry date is built into the functioning of the gift card, and once the gift card is expired, any remaining funds are automatically transferred to you.
Can I refund a gift card?
Unfortunately a gift card, or items purchased with a gift card, cannot be refunded in the TicketCo platform. You should therefore organise a refund directly with the customer instead.
