Adding your own legal terms to the purchase process
If your organisation has its own legal terms, you can add these into the purchase process so that your ticket buyers must accept your legal terms in addition to TicketCo's legal terms. As you can see in the image below, the legal terms must be selected in step 3 of the purchase process:
In this article we will explain how you can add your own legal terms to your events and items in TicketCo.
Setting up your legal terms
The legal terms feature is not automatically enabled, so please get in touch with us, and we will activate it on your account. Once activated, you will find the feature under Organizer settings:
In the menu on the left, select Legal terms, then + Create new legal terms. You can add multiple different legal terms for different purposes. You will then see a screen like this:
TITLE
This is the name of this specific legal terms and is also the title of the document your customers see when viewing your legal terms.
SEND PDF?
If you enable this option your legal terms will be attached to the email containing the purchase confirmation.
DATA COLLECTION DISCLAIMER
If this option is enabled, the text you input under Content will be displayed below where your ticket buyers enter their name ane email in stage 2 of the purchase process. In these case, the content is not displayed as an optional checkbox, but as an informative message.
We advise caution when using this setting, as it is often better to offer customers a Yes/No question when it comes to marketing or newsletters. This should instead be set up using our Questions module.
PDF
You have two options when it comes to the content of your legal terms. The first is uploading a PDF that your customers can download.
CONTENT
The second option is to enter text in the Content field if you are not using a PDF version of your legal terms.
Enabling the legal terms on your event
As different types of tickets and services might require different legal terms you have to enable your legal terms per ticket type. To do this simply go into your event, then to the settings of your ticket types and enable your legal terms at the bottom of your settings.
What does it look like for the purchaser?
When it’s all set up, your ticket buyers will see an additional check box they need to tick before being allowed to purchase the tickets (if you have not selected the Data Collection Disclaimer option). The title of the legal terms will be clickable so that all of your customers have the option to view the legal terms before checking the box.
And that's it! You have now added your legal terms to the purchase process.
