Adding your own legal terms to the purchase process
If your organisation has its own legal terms, you can add these into the purchase process so that your ticket buyers must accept your legal terms in addition to TicketCo's legal terms. As you can see in the image below, the legal terms must be selected in step 3 of the purchase process:
In this article we will explain how you can add your own legal terms to your events and items in TicketCo.
Setting up your legal terms
The legal terms feature is not automatically enabled, so please get in touch with us, and we will activate it on your account. Once activated, you will find the feature under Organizer settings:
In the menu on the left, select Legal terms, then + Create new legal terms. You can add multiple different legal terms for different purposes. You will then see a screen like this:
Use as standard
If you activate this, your legal terms will be automatically applied to any ticket types you create in future.
Title
This is the name of this specific legal terms and is also the title of the document your customers see when viewing your legal terms.
Version
You can input the version number of your legal terms here.
Display as
If you want to adjust the wording for the link to your legal terms which displays at the end of the purchase flow, you can input a custom text here. If you leave this blank, our standard settings will be used instead.
Send PDF?
If you want to send a PDF copy of your legal terms together with the order confirmation email, you can activate this setting.
PDF or manual content creation?
If you enable this option you will see a text box which allows you to input your legal terms directly. If unselected, you will have the option to upload a PDF file instead.
Enabling the legal terms on your event
As different types of tickets and services might require different legal terms you have to enable your legal terms per ticket type. To do this simply go into your event, then to the settings of your ticket types and enable your legal terms at the bottom of your settings.
What does it look like for the purchaser?
When it’s all set up, your ticket buyers will see an additional check box they need to tick before being allowed to purchase the tickets. The title of the legal terms will be clickable so that all of your customers have the option to view the legal terms before checking the box.
And that's it! You have now added your legal terms to the purchase process.
