Creating festival passes
If you are organising a music or arts festival consisting of multiple events, you might consider selling a festival pass which will allow customers entrance to multiple events. There are a few different ways you could set this up in the TicketCo platform, so this article will outline your different options as well as things to consider for each.
Season pass
It is possible to use the Season tickets feature to create a festival pass. For your customers, this is perhaps the easiest purchase process as they simply buy one ticket which will give them entrance to all associated events.
A season ticket essentially contains individual tickets to each associated event, meaning it can be scanned multiple times.
Easy and clear purchase process for customers
Can be scanned multiple times
How to set up: You will need access to the feature, and once activated, you set up the pass under Season tickets in the main menu. We have guidance on how to set up a season pass here.
Worth considering: The main limitation with this solution is that you cannot sell more passes than the smallest capacity in your associated events, so this solution is not the best if your events differ in capacity. You can find more help and explanation surrounding this here.
Regular ticket and wristbands
This approach is arguably more practical and simpler to setup. This involves creating a regular ticket type which you call "festival pass" or similar.
When you scan these in at your event, your staff can then hand out wristbands or other cards/labels to your ticket buyers. Your ticket buyers can then show their wristband in order to gain access to the individual events.
Simple set up in TicketCo platform
Allows for quick verification on the individual events (checking customers' wristbands)
How to set up: You create either a new event or a new capacity on an existing event, and create your festival pass as a new ticket type there.
Worth considering: This involves purchasing wristbands or other labels, and then setting up an area at your festival to share them out to your purchasers. The ticket can only be scanned once. You will also need to consider carefully the capacity on your individual events, so that you account for the number of festival passes sold.
Bundles
This involves creating a bundle or a "festival pack" containing access to a variety of different events, as well as merchandise and digital content.
The purchaser will buy a pack which will contain all the items you have added to it, and the order summary page will show the savings they receive by buying the pack versus all the individual items.
Displays clearly in purchase process the savings the customer has made by ordering a pack as opposed to the individual items.
Can be combined with digital events (streaming and video on demand).
How to set up: You will need access to the Items bundling feature, and once activated you can set up bundles on any event under Ticket types, then Items bundling on the left. A bundle contains individual tickets and items, meaning it can be scanned multiple times. More help with this is found here.
Worth considering: Similarly to season tickets, you cannot sell more bundles than the item with the fewest number available. A bundle is primarily designed as a discount tool, so the price of the bundle must be less than the total sum of its consistuent parts.
Click card
This involves selling a click card which customers will then use to purchase individual event tickets. The click card acts almost as a voucher or coupon card containing a certain number of "clicks".
The purchaser must first buy a click card, and then they will use their individual code to purchase specific reduced price tickets to all the events they are interested in.
Customers can select which events they will use their festival pass on
Easy control of your event capacities
How to set up: You will need access to the Click card tab, and you create your click card there. You then need to create a new ticket type on your individual events which requires the use of a click card. More help with this is found here.
Worth considering: How many "clicks" you will provide per card, meaning how many tickets each click card can redeem. Your customers do not automatically receive access to all events in the festival, but they need to select and redeem individual tickets.
Promo code
It is also possible to use a series of promotional codes to offer your ticket buyers the chance to redeem free or reduced price tickets to other events, and in that way you can set up a solution similar to the click card option.

Easy control of your event capacities
How to set up: You can set this up in different ways, either by creating specific promo code ticket types, or by creating promo code discounts. You could also use unique promo codes for this. You will first create a new ticket type in a new event or capacity called "festival pass" or similar. Everyone who purchases this item will then gain access to a code or set of codes which they can use to redeem tickets to individual events.
Worth considering: How you distribute the codes to your purchasers. Perhaps you can input the code under "How to use the item" or you can set up an automated email each time a new purchase is made. You should also consider how you explain to your purchasers how they should use their promo code.
